Fimid’s Chicken Nuggets

Chicken nuggets are popular particularly with children. Its one of the fastest meals to prepare for your kids with the widely available frozen food version that can be quickly prepared at home, either deep-fried, air-fried, baked or microwaved.

Borne out of her love for chicken, my 14 year old daughter created her own recipe for chicken nuggets. Its super quick and easy to prepare, tastes great and the spicing can be modified easily to suit any palate.

Serve with french fries, mashed potatoes, or salads and your choice of dipping sauce, ketchup, barbecue sauce, honey mustard or dressing.

Ingredients For Chicken Nuggets

  • 2 Cups minced chicken
  • 1 tsp chicken flavor seasoning mix
  • 1 tsp paparika
  • 1 tsp garlic.powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 Cup milk
  • 1 Cup flour
  • Shredded cheese

Instructions

Mix the minced chicken with one egg and combine with the seasoning mix, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Once done, wrap the mixture in plastic wrap and leave it to chill in the fridge for 30 mins to 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 360°F. Mix the flour and cheese in a separate bowl and pour the milk into another bowl. Unwrap the cold minced chicken mix, cut it into 16-20 small pieces and shape each one like nuggets. Roll them one at a time in the flour and cheese mixture, dip into the milk, and coat with flour once again. Repeat until all the nuggets are coated.

Line a baking tray with grease proof paper or foil, spray with oil, and place the chicken nuggets onto the baking tray well spaced out. Bake for 15 – 20 mins on each side. Alternatively, you can cook them with your air fryer for 20mins
